Terms of Service

Volt Host, the provider in this document, is a trade name granted to EMC Services, Inc, registered in Ontario, Canada. The term ‘user’ in this document refers to the client at Volt Host who has employed infrastructure and/or software hosting services from Volt Host. The user may also be referred to as the ‘client’, or ‘customer’.

The user is automatically bound to this contract upon registration on this website, http(s)://volt-host.com/*.

Volt Host has the right to terminate service to a user at any given time due to violation of these terms of service regardless of whether or not violation was intentional. Volt Host may also terminate any service at any given time for any reason at their own discretion.

• Volt Host reserves the right to modify these terms of service at any given time without any given warning. It is the Volt Host users own responsibility to check back and stay updated with the terms of service.
• The data which is stored on the our services is only allowed to be used for data regarding that service.
• Volt Host game servers may not be used for hostname spamming purposes. Such activity is commonly prohibited by masterlist regulations. If a cluster of servers is found to be used for hostname spamming, they shall be cancelled without refund.
• A Volt Host users request, manner of the request and complexity of the issue will affect the response time, we try to respond to all support tickets within 6 - 24 hours at the latest, however elevated request times can increase this.
• Volt Host users are asked to be respectful towards Volt Host staff, failure to comply will result in a ban on the users account from accessing support services.
• Volt Host will guarantee to host its servers on datacenters which have an SLA of 99.98% uptime or greater, however server issues do still occur -- if there is downtime on your service, Volt Host will keep you updated via the control panel system and will refund downtime accordingly depending on the severity of the issue. No transaction refunds will be provided for downtime.
• The Volt Host user agrees to not abuse or exploit potential bugs in our software, and to report them to support instantly if they are found.
• The Volt Host user understands that all incoming funds via OneBip and PayPal into a Volt Host account towards any associated Volt Host billing accounts which is added as credit or funds is strictly non-refundable.
• Volt Host users are not allowed to resell our services at any time without prior written permission from Volt Host.
• Volt Host users may not use our services to demote the reputation of Volt Host or companies which are directly affiliated with, or are subsidiaries of Volt Host.
• Refunds will only be served as account credit. No refunds will be made via PayPal or OneBip.
• Volt Host users must renew their services on time, else they shall be deactivated. If a Volt Host user cannot renew his service on time, it is his or her sole responsibility to contact support and work out a solution.
• Servers will be de-hibernated during server moves, it is the Volt Host users responsibility to keep up to date and their hibernation resumed if such a move does occur.
• It is the Volt Host users sole responsibility to keep their data safe. Volt Host cannot be held responsible for any data loss, while we do maintain several features which assist with data consistency and protection within our control panel system.
• Currently the site is only available in English, therefore the Volt Host user must arrange for his/her own conversion to his/her language if necessary.
• Volt Host users are not allowed to transfer ownership of their accounts without prior consent from a Volt Host executive.
• Several data protection methods are employed at Volt Host to protect our client data. All administrators at Volt Host are able to access data regarding your IP address, logins, full name, username and email for customer service and validation purposes. If you do not agree to these conditions, either (a) do not purchase a server from Volt Host, or (b) if you would not like to disclose your full name, please set your full name to either just your first name or another name which you would like us to refer to you by via our customer service system.
• While Volt Host retains backups of it's servers, it is the users sole responsibility to keep additional backups of their data. Volt Host cannot be held liable for any loss of data due to the user not keeping backups of their data.
• One Volt Host account is allowed per person.

Additional web hosting terms

• The web hosting provided is designed to host web content only. Your hosting may not be used for any other content (ie backups, file downloads, etc). The only exception to this is FastDL redirect servers.
• All files hosted must comply to US content laws. If adult content is hosted on our network, it must also comply to US content laws regarding adult content on the internet.
• If you intend on using your web hosting for resource intensive applications such as video streaming, some browser games, online MMO hosting, etc, please contact us for alternative plans.
• Shell accounts are not to be used to run any processes not related to web hosting. This includes processes such as bots, game servers, voice servers, server applications. If you are unsure if you are allowed to run a certain application, please contact support.

Payments

• Any disputes opened via OneBip or PayPal will result in an immediate suspension of all of the Volt Host users services until they are resolved or alternate arrangements are made with the Volt Host billing team. An additional $250.00US will be charged to the Volt Host users account at the discretion of Volt Host staff.
  
• Any disputes with the Volt Host abuse team are subject to a $50.00 fee for resolution.
• Referrals may only be used for web hosting and game hosting services.

Hosted Tab Auctions

These terms apply only to users who are participating in an auction-bid style of purchasing for Volt Host hosted tab.

• The user is free to bid as much as they like on an auction. By bidding on an auction, you agree to pay this price for at least (1) month of hosted tab service at Volt Host upon completion of the auction. You are given a period of 48 hours after the auction is completed to purchase the hosted tab.
• Upon winning an auction, Volt Host will contact you from no-reply@volt-host.com stating that you have won the auction. You can finalize purchase of the hosted tab via the Hosted tab landing page on Volt Host's website.
• A user can be blocked from bidding on the hosted tab auction for dropping (not purchasing the tab within 48 hours after winning) of the tab payment. This block is up to the discretion of Volt Host staff who moderate the auction.
• If a user is blocked, they can appeal to be un-blocked by opening a support ticket. An unblocking fee of $25.00 may be charged to the users account for this service.

Dedicated server

• Dedicated servers are purchased on a minimum one month period. If a dedicated server is cancelled, a credit for all payment past the one month period will be applied to the users account. If there is one, or less than one month of service left on the dedicated server, no credit will be applied to the users account.

Through the usage of Volt Host and its respective services, you agree to fully indemnify Volt Host from any liabilities or damages incurred through its services. This agreement includes any proceedings, claims or legal action against Volt Host. If a user decides to proceed with legal action against Volt Host, the user agrees to pay legal fees for Volt Host as well as an additional $200USD/hr fee per Volt Host staff member who is involved in the legal action.
